There's nothing quite as satisfying as a warm, cheesy Philly cheesesteak, but the carbs are a big no go on so many peoples diets these days making them a forbidden pleasure or rare treat. This is my compromise, a cheesy stuffed pepper loaded with onions and steak. Great with a few veggies or a simple green salad this is a family pleaser any time.

Ingredients

* 4 green peppers * 3 tbsp butter * 1 large sweet onion (about 1/2 lb) * 1 lb top round steak, thinly sliced * 3 tbsp A1 sauce * 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce * 12 slices provolone cheese * 1 tsp each salt and pepper

Directions

Heat pan over high heat and melt butter. While pan is heating dice up onion and slice steaks into bite size pieces. Slice tops off peppers and scoop seeds out, placing in a shallow baking dish.

Preheat oven to 450. Cook onions and steak until onions are soft and steak is almost done, add in Worcestershire and A1, stir to deglaze pan and coat.

Place slice of cheese in each pepper, then layer 1/8 of mixture and another slice of cheese followed by another 1/8 of mixture.

Bake peppers 30 minutes, then top with remaining slices of cheese and bake 5 min more. Serve with green salad and mixed veggies.

Give it a try and tell me how it turns out!
