One of my favorite desserts is cheesecake, however I have never actually attempted a full cheesecake before, instead buying them or opting for no bake cheesecakes. This was my first attempt at a cheesecake. I started not to post this since it is not the most gorgeous dessert, however it tasted amazing and goes to show there is more than what meets the eye sometimes. This also goes to show that not every attempt is beautiful lol.
Ingredients
*3 blocks of cream cheese, softened
*3 eggs
*2 tsp vanilla
*1 container sour cream
*1 tbsp cinnamon
*2 small gala apples chopped into bite size pieces
*1 package salted caramel oreo thins
*1 stick of butter
*2 Tbsp sugar
*Caramel ice cream topping
Directions
Soften cream cheese to room temp in a bowl while preheating oven to 350. Meanwhile place oreos in freezer bag and crush well with rolling pin (or a hammer if you have a lot of frustration lol). Melt stick of butter in bowl and mix with oreos and sugar, press into bottom of lightly grease spring form pan.
Bake 10 minutes, then remove from oven. While crust is baking beat cream cheese until smooth, then add vanilla, cinnamon, eggs and sour cream. Beat until smooth and light. fold in apple slices and gently pour onto crust. Bake 50-60 minutes until cake is set. Let cool 1-2 hours then top with caramel drizzle.
